Dear Beloved Community,
Spring has arrived at Sacred Owl Land, and she is awakening everything. The birds are louder, the sun is warmer, and the land is humming with renewal. Can you feel it?
Mexico: A Journey of Surrender, Sweetness & Soul
After the intensity of eclipse season, I followed a quiet whisper to step away. To unplug. To let the rhythm of life carry me for a while.
We began on the coast, facing the vast Pacific Ocean. For three days, I stood at the shoreline, watching the waves. I’ve always had a deep respect (and a little fear) of the ocean, and I usually only go in when my daughter Samiah or my hubby Ludo are by my side.
On day four, I told the universe:“If someone shows up who feels comfortable in the water, I’ll go in.”Moments later, a man walked up, dove right in, and I shouted to him, “Do you feel safe out there?”
He smiled and offered his hand. That small, sacred gesture reminded me how strangers can become guides—and how spirit responds when we ask.
That day, I went in.I played. And when my girlfriend arrived, we danced in the waves like mermaids until sunset.
From the Beach to the City
Next stop: Mexico City.
A whirlwind of magic, lush vegetation in a concrete jungle, birds singing at dawn, street food that awakened my senses, and dancing till sunrise.
One highlight: stepping into La Casa Azul, the home of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The walls still breathe with their love, their art, their pain. I could smell the paint, feel her presence, and taste the tension and tenderness in every room.
Frida’s story continues to inspire me to transform pain into power, restriction into expression. If you haven’t yet, watch the movie Frida or read her biography. You’ll feel her soul.
And to bring a little of that into your home, I’m sharing a traditional hibiscus tea recipe from Mexico (scroll down for that!).
Spring at Sacred Owl Land: A New Chapter
Now back on the land, I feel grounded and clear:This season is about blooming with intention.
Spring isn’t just flowers and sunshine, it’s a sacred reset. And I’ve realized something: as much as I love guiding, I’m deeply nourished by supporting others in their leadership.
So for now, I’m pausing our monthly Women’s Circles. I’m listening to the land. I’m making space for what wants to emerge. And I’m focusing on cultivating community, collaboration, and sacred events from a place of replenishment, not obligation.
